Protecting Shorelines and Promoting Safe Navigation

The Homeowner Buoy Program through the Fox Waterway Agency allows waterfront property owners to support safe navigation by placing approved buoys along their shoreline.

To ensure consistency and safety throughout the Fox River and Chain O’Lakes:

  • A Buoy Placement Permit must be obtained before any buoy is installed
  • Only FWA-issued buoys may be used in the waterway.

  4. Your application will be reviewed and a member of the FWA staff will contact you.
