FROM THE IDNR-OWR:

Regarding yesterday afternoon’s gate changes.

The gates at Stratton were adjusted to reduce outflows yesterday. Based on the NWS forecast, which includes Cristobal, the lake levels will continue dropping with these gate adjustments, the upper river will rise and the lower river will drop.

The NWS forecast peak inflow is much lower than expected and lower than what is currently being discharged at the dam.  Therefore, the IDNR, OWR, is making adjustments but will continue to drop lake levels while allowing the lower and upper rivers to be navigable.

The upper river should go to around 3.7, lower river to 2.7 and the lakes will continue to drop .1-.2 feet per day.

Thank you,

Joe
